Introduction

During the 50 State Tour, Chuck Pierce gave the following prophetic word over Massachusetts:

“We must develop watchman strategy in this state where the house is being watched after, and watching after leadership and the House of God (not the state and the city) because of righteous seed in the house that have the seed to dethrone the enemy. I’m calling my people to watch after my house in this state and to rally my house together so my house is watching and being watched after. If you begin to move in that, I will give you authority to remove a structure that is ruling in this state at a particular place of choice in this state. (You will have) more influence - enough is enough. I’m changing the atmosphere.

“I’ll show you how to follow into the next place of provision when the dry up comes. I’ll show you how to have a full faith to move forward so you can win this war. Know how to sidestep the enemy’s confusion and plan and keep moving; break the spirit of defeat off of us. We come back toward the covenant you have established; we work back toward the agreement you have with us and anything seated stopping a fullness of your covenant blessing from coming in. We put you on notice; you will be dethroned in Jesus’ Name.”

Massachusetts Week of Prayer

Monday & Tuesday | Business/Economy

Currently, Massachusetts’ unemployment rate is 6.5%, less than the national average of 8.2%.(1) Products include tobacco, livestock, fruits, tree nuts, and berries. After Wisconsin, Massachusetts is the second largest cranberry producing state in the nation. (2)

-Pray for Massachusetts’ unemployment rate to continue decreasing.
-Pray for local businesses and start-up companies to prosper, which strengthens the private sector.
-Ask the Lord to expose any deceit or corruption within the Massachusetts economic system, particularly in banking and governmental positions.
-Pray for money to be managed wisely by the state and citizens of Massachusetts. Ask the Lord to give a prudent heart to this state in order to avoid over-spending and debt.
-Pray that the economic system, and money-spending in Massachusetts would be used for God’s glory.
-Repent on behalf of Massachusetts for funding abortion, homosexual rights, and other anti-Biblical, unrighteous acts.

Wednesday & Thursday | Government

Much of the political system, especially in Boston, is influenced primarily by liberal politics. This hasn’t always been the case, however, as left wing ideologies rose significantly during the 20th century, shifting from right wing views. In 2003 the state Supreme Court made a decision on allowing same-sex marriage, which was implemented in 2004. This is an area which needs much prayer. (2)

-Ask the Lord to bless every governmental official in Massachusetts. Pray for their families, salvation, finances, and work in their particular sphere.
-Pray for righteous and just leaders to be elected into office in the 2012 elections.
-Pray for biblical principles to be established in MA’s political offices.
-Pray that there would be a shifting in the state Supreme Court, and that conservative judges who carry biblical a worldview and morals would be set in place.
-Pray that homosexual marriage would be overturned!
-Pray for the members of the U.S. military and their families in Massachusetts.
-Pray protection over Massachusetts’ military bases.
 
Friday & Saturday | Family/Marriage

-In 2004, same-sex marriage was legalized. Pray that same-sex marriage will be overturned, and ask the Lord to have mercy on the state of Massachuetts for allowing homosexuality to prevail.
-Pray that families and marriages across the state would be strengthened, and enriched by biblical values.
-Pray for the youth of Massachusetts, that they would not be enticed into a world of drugs, alcohol, pornography, etc., but that they would stand as a generation of purified warriors for Christ.
-Pray that families in Massachusetts would see the importance of going to a Bible-believing church, not solely for spiritual enrichment, but also for the bonding with one another.
-Declare that the spirit of divorce and suicide will not advance in Massachusetts!

Sunday | Ekklesia (Governing body)

-Pray for the local Church in Massachusetts to not be influenced by radical, liberal ideologies, but that it would stand for righteousness, justice, and truth.
-Pray for a greater measure of unity between local churches. Ask the Lord to guide them into partnering with one another to see the ending of issues such as abortion and homosexual rights.
-Pray for pastors and church leaders to be strengthened in their positions. Pray for protection over them and their families form the hand of the enemy that would seek to make them fall into sin and division.
-Pray that the Ekklesia in Massachusetts will not be apathetic in the 2012 elections, but would seek to be informed and vote!
-Declare that the Church in this state will rise up in its position as the governing body.

Top State Issues

This year in Massachusetts, the Senate seat held captive by Ted Kennedy since 1962, was taken by a Republican, Scott Brown, in a surprise move. President Obama and Democrat liberal Governor of Massachusetts Deval Patrick have been bombarding the airways with ads for a liberal Harvard University professor Elizabeth Warren. There was controversy surrounding her campaign last week because she had claimed to have Native American heritage, which was later found out to be untrue. The Cherokee Nation is now protesting this issue.

Another upset political surprise occurred when gay Representative Barney Frank, House of Representatives,  suddenly announced he would not be seeking reelection. However, another liberal Kennedy, Joseph Kennedy III is launching his campaign for the congressional seat. Republican candidate and marine, Sean Bielat is taking a stab at taking this seat.  We are believing God will put in this seat one who will stem the tide of the old boy network - and the damaging liberalism that has been the norm in Massachusetts.

Electoral Events

As the state’s primaries and caucuses have come to and end, the next major electoral event will be the General Election on Tuesday, November 6, 2012.

We are asking all churches, ministries and garden variety Christians everywhere to pray for the Massachusetts elections. This is a key time - we would like to see the conservative seat maintained in the senate with Scott Brown for another season. Let’s not lose ground. Our prayers brought the upset change in 2010, and our prayers can do it again - and bring more conservatives into government leadership. 

The following prayer points were submitted by Craig Bensen, VT USRPN:

Working on the belief that God will be looking for our prayers to release His plans during this Primary season, we may offer these prayers:

-That God’s choice(s) would have volunteers, funding and favor in full supply to accomplish their calling in this season.
-That the Light of Truth will shine where it needs to shine revealing the good, the bad and the ugly about the candidates, the political parties and the process.
-That those who withdraw from the race would make godly decisions about who they will be endorsing.
-That the plans, schemes, “dirty tricks”, etc., of those seeking to manipulate the elections would be exposed and/or fall prey to the Law of Unintended Consequences (what is meant for a curse becomes a blessing).
-That God’s people would purpose to vote in this season and would vote informed by facts, prayer and the Holy Spirit.
-That citizen support for strong family values would be a major message perceived and reported by the media during this season.
-That this election season would be characterized by the quality of the ideas and solutions debated, not by the false hopes and promises of past elections.
-That our citizenry would be more and better informed, resolute in choosing candidates of substance; that we would demand a new era of Americans working together to solve our problems and to move into our future; that we would vote for those who share our vision.

Pray & Vote!

In addition to the above pray and decree that “we the people” would receive and understand the revelation of who we are in Christ and who He is in us.  That we have the authority in prayer.  And Lord, that “we the people” would come to know that we are accountable to vote and to vote in accordance with Biblical principles.  We declare that the church, the saints, will rise up with the VOICE of the Lord during this season.

Prayer Points for Massachusetts’ Current Elected Officials

-Pray protection, wisdom, and favor over all of Massachusetts’ elected officials as they govern the state. (1 Timothy 2:1-2)

-Pray for the families of the elected officials in Massachusetts, and ask the Lord to strengthen their familial relationships. (Ephesians 4:2-3)

-For officials who aren’t Christ followers, pray that the Lord would reveal Himself and His love to them, and cause them to seek His face. (1 Timothy 2:3-4)

-Pray for all possible corruption within the hearts of these political leaders to be exposed, with subsequent repentance and reconciliation to their Creator. (Romans 8:21)

-Pray for these leaders to see the value in biblical principles, and would lead from a biblical worldview. (Proverbs 28:2)
