Urgent Prayer for New York City

About a month ago, a USRPN State Prayer Coordinator sent us the following note in response to a call to prayer we issued among our prayer coordinators concerning the Occupy Wall Street Movement.

[As I was praying]…I saw a picture of a flow of water under a flow water.  And the water underneath was “nasty”.  By that I mean, very dirty and grimy-looking.  The word undercurrent came to me.  I checked out the definition and I think it nails it right on the head.  I was thinking of the word “subversive”, before getting the picture and word “undercurrent”.

2 a hidden opinion, feeling, or tendency often contrary to the one publicly shown

I found the following example sentence very revealing:  “You could be pulled under water by the dangerous undercurrents.”

Here is another definition:

Obviously, we need to stay vigilant!

In light of recent developments in New York City as it relates to the Occupy Wall Street Movement—particularly the November 17 ‘Day of Action,’ which drew upwards of 30,000 protesters into the streets—we are calling believers nationwide to help raise up a wall of intercession for peace and safety in the streets of New York City.

Intercessors throughout New York City have teamed up to provide round the clock prayer and fasting coverage for New York City as we see a surge of the Occupy Wall Street Movement.  They are also having teams go down to the financial district of New York City and pray on-site at the Occupy Wall Street gatherings almost on a daily basis.

These intercessors report that they have made some ground in uprooting the spirit of anarchy that has been birthed through this movement, but they need more intercessory prayer support to complete the mission. 

Would you consider joining them in this prayer and fasting chain, by fasting half a day per week, one full day per week or more?

Fatherlessness: without a father figure or mentor

We have lost a generation due to no parents or a lack of parenting, which has brought forth a generation that is looking for a cause to give them purpose. We have appeased them with money and material “things” and have sacrificed building in nurture and principles.  As a result we have created an entitlement generation that is frustrated with the current status quo. Now many others have joined in for a myriad of reasons and unresolved issues.

It is important that we first address our own sin as fathers and mothers through repentance of not fathering and mothering this generation. From our knees, begin to pay the price in prayer to shift what is going on here in NYC to a redemptive outcome!

Job 29:12 I delivered the fatherless who had none to help him.

Psalm 10:4   Thou has been the helper of the fatherless.

Zuccotti Park is becoming a “birth place”; it is our responsibility as watchmen for this city to engage in what is being birthed from our city!

Rebellion – opposition to one in authority, refusal of obedience or order, disobedient, disrespectful, presumptuous, deviated from right paths

FRUIT:
Mocking Spirit – to treat with contempt or ridicule
Perversion – the action and condition of being distorted, deviating from what is proper
Rage – a violent and uncontrolled anger
Intimidation – to make timid or fearful
Lawlessness – not restrained or controlled by law
Anarchy- a state of lawlessness or political disorder due to the absence of governmental authority.
Racial Hatred –  class warfare, Jews, etc.

Shut the Gates to:  the underworld or Hades, idolatry, occultism, Mammon, humanistic thinking and science, the anti-Christ spirit, unholy alliances among governments and nations

Open the Gate to the King of Glory:

Psalm 24:7 “Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in.”

Witchcraft: the use of sorcery or magic, an irresistible influence or fascination

FRUIT:
Division – the act or process of dividing: the state of being divided
Control – to have power over
Tyranny – oppressive power; “every form of tyranny over the mind of man” - Thomas Jefferson

Daniel 3:14 “Nebuchadnezzar spoke, saying to them, “Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, that you do not serve my gods or worship the gold image which I have set up?”

Declare that there will be young men and women who will speak the truth in love into the midst of this group!

John 4:23 “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.”

Additional Prayer Points:

Pray for the containment, media blackout and defunding of the movement until redemption and righteousness are brought forth.

Pray for a redemptive generation of leaders to come forth.

Ephesians 5: 7 “Do not associate with sons of darkness…walk as children of light.”
