Please view the video for an update from Mike and Cindy Jacobs as they recently visited David’s Tent DC.

Prayer initiatives are taking place all over the nation as we are in the final days leading up to the 2012 General Election on November 6. One initiative, facilitated by Jason Hershey and Jon Hamill (our very own Maryland state coordinator), is the David’s Tent DC initiative. As instructed by the Lord, David’s Tent DC is a 40-day campaign of prayer and worship located at the Ellipse Park just south of the White House.

In Deuteronomy chapter 12, Moses instructs the next generation to not just worship at any place of their choosing but to seek out the place that the Lord desired.  In the pantheistic culture of that time, this instruction was to bring Israel to a place of centrality as one people, in unity, around One God.  Generations later, King David danced, celebrating with all he had, as the Ark of the Covenant finally entered Jerusalem (2 Samuel 5 & 6). Previously, the Ark was at Obed-Edom’s house and brought much blessing to his whole household. David put the Ark under a tent that he had pitched for it in Jerusalem. He hired several thousand musicians, singers, and worshippers to do nothing but minister to the Presence of the Lord around the Ark of the Covenant 24 hours a day, for the length of his reign (1 Chronicles 16).  David made the Lord’s Presence central, not only for himself, but for his nation.  It’s no coincidence that he won battle after battle the rest of his life.  The Ark’s transition from Obed-Edom’s house to the Capital City, carried that blessing from one household, to now, a whole nation! Prayer Points:

1. Pray for protection for the David’s Tent DC team and their families as they are on the front lines, contending for the nation in prayer and worship.

2. Pray for God to visit them powerfully while they are on the Ellipse Park grounds seeking the Lord. Ask God to give dreams, visions, and powerful prophetic words.

3. In these final days before the elections, pray that the Church in America would rise up and vote righteously!
